Friday December 10th Annie Arrives
I arrived at the airport about twenty minutes before Annie's flight was scheduled to arrive. However, as soon as I was inside the terminal I learned that her flight had arrived early. Realizing that she would have to get her checked bag and process through immigration I assumed that I still had plenty of time. I found the area where arrivals first entered the main lobby. I found a nice place amongst a Filipino family and waited for her. It took awhile and even though I looked for her diligently she almost passed by without my noticing her. OMG she looked even more amazing in person!
I must admit it was a bit awkward but it all worked out and we managed to find the car. We drove back to the apartment and luckily Google Maps didn't choose a route over that stinking floating bridge. Back at the room we got Annie settled in and called it a day or morning to be more accurate.
We lounged till after noon and then decided to check out the Dubai Mall.
It is right in the middle of downtown and traffic was terrible bringing back memories of a time I made the mistake of driving in the middle of New York City. After awhile we managed to find the Mall parking garage. We finally found a spot and proceeded to head inside the Mall. It is huge, like it's own little city. We looked at several shoe stores for some sneakers for Annie to wear during our upcoming Desert Safari. We also bought me a red shirt. We took some photos at the water fountain and later had dinner at Soy Restaurant.
It was a bit difficult to find our way back to the parking garage but with a little assistance we made it.
We drove back to the apartment without any issues and spent a nice evening together.
